A child in an armed conflict in the light of Art. 38 of the Convention on the Rights of the Child

A Child in an Armed Conflict in the Light of Article 38 of the Convention on the Rights of the Child The thesis aims to transparently elaborate the topic of protection of children in armed conflicts pursuant to the Article 38 of the Convention on the Rights of the Child as well as identification of the main problems associated with the topic and efforts to suggest their solutions. The thesis also focuses on monitoring and enforcement mechanism of individual international instruments. The body of the thesis is divided into four parts, each of several chapters. The first part of the thesis deals with the development of protection of children in armed conflicts until the adoption of the Convention on the Rights of the Child, and relevant international law documents on the protection of children in armed conflicts. The first part also includes a chapter with the identification of the main problems associated with the protection of children. Second part of the thesis concentrates on the analysis of various instruments of international law regarding the protection of children, that is, of course, the Convention on the Rights of the Child and its Optional Protocols, and following documents regarding protection of children based on this Convention, i.e. The Convention of the International Labour Organization...

Social worker and his position in the Czech Republic

The bachelor thesis is devoted to the profession of social worker of the Department of Social and Legal Protection of Children. The main topics of the thesis are the ethical codex, dilemmas of a social worker, methods of social work, requirements on expert knowledge, roles, target groups of social work and social services. The thesis independently defines a social worker as a social curator for adults, a social curator for minors, describes family and case conferences, points out the possibility of burnout syndrome and the importance of supervision. The attention is devoted to obstacles identified by the social worker in the exercise of his profession at the Department of Social and Legal Protection of Children. The second part of the thesis contains a questionnaire survey that observes and compares the positions and opinions of these social workers on their profession. The aim of this bachelor thesis is to introduce the position and prestige of a social worker at the Department of Social and Legal Protection of Children.

A CHILD IN LABOUR LAW AND SOCIAL SECURITY LAW The purpose of my thesis is to draw attention to the position and protection of a child within Czech labour law and social security law in a wider context. The thematic range of this thesis covers two separate branches of law focusing on the following aspects: a child - a party to legal relations and "taking care of a child" as a relevant legal fact, which ensures wider rights to the person who takes care of a child. The part relating to individual benefits provided by social security law emphasizes the concurrence of benefits entitlement across the systems of social insurance, social support and social services. The issue is complemented with relevant provisions of legal acts enacted by the European Union, especially by the treatment of Directive on Social Security and Cross-border Labour within the EU. The paper is composed of six chapters. Introduction brings the reader into the issue. Chapter one defines the basic terminology used in the thesis, such as child, juvenile employee, child without support, living minimum, etc. Chapter Two offers the Czech historical foundations of this topic. Assisted contact parents with children in the Czech Republic

The diploma thesis titled Assisted contact parents with children in the Czech Republic focuses on the current description of the service, which aims to promote relations in the divorcing family and the common safe and nonconflict contact between parents and child. The aim of the diploma thesis is to describe the current form of assisted contact parents with children in Czech organizations. The work is mentioned in the foreign organization, from which this practice has spread to the Czech Republic. The thesis is divided into a theoretical and practical part, which maps the assisted contact of parents with children. The theoretical part deals with the impact of family breakdown on the family, the description of assisted parenting with children. Part is dedicated to foreign organizations providing assisted parenting with children. The last chapter is then mapped by Czech organizations. The practical part shows the results of structured interviews with organizations. The interview was divided into four areas. During the research, it was found that the current state of assisted parenting with children is used by parents rather after the recommendation of the body for social and legal protection of children or the court. Causes of taking children out of domestic surroundings and placing them into children s home Žíchovec in year 2007.

My baccalaureate work ``The Causes of Taking Children out from their Families and Placing them in the Žíchovec Children´s Home in 2007{\crqq} is focused on the monitoring of circumstances related to the placement of children in the Žíchovec Children´s Home in 1997, on the identification and description of factors resulting in the placement of children in the said home. The analysis was based on the quantitative method, predominantly the collection of data acquired from the personal documentation of children enrolled in the course of 2007, 26 in total, their age ranging between 5 and 17. The other method consisted in several case studies illustrating the broad range of causes of the placement of children in this institution. Theoretical section: alternative educational care, institutional care and its functioning in different kinds of institutions like diagnostic institute, children´s home, children´s home with its own school, corrective institution for children, family and its role, the significance of social and legal protection of children. The presentation of the Žíchovec Children´s Home (history, organization, human resources, clients). Practical section: The determination of the causes of the placement of children in Žíchovec in 2007 using the quantitative method of data collection, the acquisition of personal documentation of children enrolled in the institution in the course of 2007 (totaling 26), their age ranging between 5 and 17 years. The practical section was supplemented with several case studies illustrating the broad range of causes of the placement of children in this institution. The most frequent cause of taking children out from their families and placing them in the Žíchovec Children´s Home in 2007 have been behavior problems of children originating predominantly from incomplete or newly supplemented families with low income standards. This baccalaureate work should provide a more detailed information on the causes of taking children out of their families in order to be placed in a children´s home for the purposes of the staff of such types of institutions as well as of all those who are interested in this issue.

The analysis of the effectiveness of social campaigns for children

Bakalářská práce se zabývá současnými či nedávno ukončenými sociálními kampaněmi v České republice, které se zaměřují na ochranu dětí. Tématy jsou zejména dětské týrání, šikana a sexuální zneužívání. Práce přináší pohled na kampaně z hlediska účinnosti a efektivnosti. Ty jsou podloženy detailním rozborem kampaní dle používaných forem reklamy, dotazníkovým průzkumem u dětí a dospělých, a v neposlední řadě rozhovory s pracovníky neziskových organizací. Jde o zhodnocení, zda vůbec všechny kampaně s touto tématikou mají smysl.
